Our home remodeling process follows 6 stages, and the same team stays with your project from the first consultation through the final walkthrough. We handle design, 3D renderings, material selection, permit coordination, scheduling, and construction as a single design-build team. Below, you can see what happens at each stage.
Step 1: Consultation & Project Planning
Your free consultation starts with a site visit, where we walk through the property and refine your goals, project scope, budget, and timeline. We review the existing space before any design work begins. For full home remodels, we provide a rough cost estimate after the initial discovery call.
Step 2: Architecture & Design
With architectural planning and designer guidance, our team develops layout options around your needs, style, and budget. We provide 3D renderings at no extra cost, showing layout, flow, finishes, and lighting. We finalize design decisions before construction begins, since changes become harder once work is underway.
Step 3: Engineering & Permits
We coordinate engineering, construction documentation, and the permitting process with your local building department, including submissions and any requested revisions. We prepare the required paperwork and draw on our knowledge of Bay Area building codes to avoid delays, so you don’t have to manage the process yourself.
Step 4: Materials & Pre-Construction
We review flooring, countertops, tile, fixtures, cabinetry, paint, windows, and exterior materials with you, including vendor meetings as needed. Once you confirm the finishes and project details, we set the schedule and coordinate the necessary steps before construction begins.
Step 5: Construction & Project Management
When construction begins, our project managers are on site daily, managing the crew, trades, and quality control. Depending on the scope, the work may include demolition, structural work, and electrical and plumbing. We keep you informed as the project progresses.
Inspections & Final Walkthrough
Required inspections happen at the stages your local building department sets, and we schedule them as the work moves forward. At the end, we walk through the finished project with you. Timing depends on the size and scope of your project.Â
